The Croatian Canadian Cultural Centre is a non profit organization whose work is carried on without purpose of financial gain for its Members. It has been in operation since 1984 and continues to provide services for its community and members. The Croatian Centre prides itself on its involvement in its community with members and Calgarians. It is always very humbling when we can help our community in times of need. The Alberta wild fires which are taking place and have devastated Fort McMurray and surrounding areas is a tragic event which has taken the homes and communities of so many people. People and organizations from around the world have stepped up to help with disaster relief and the Croatian Centre is honored to be one of them. The Centre has donated $2,000.00 to the Canadian Red Cross in an effort to help contribute to putting out one of the worst fires in history. If you would like more information on the Fort McMurray wildfires you can visit their website for info or to donate: www.redcross.ca. You can also text REDCROSS to 30333 to make a $5.00 donation.

The Centre has also made contributions in the amount of $1,000.00 to each of the following foundations: The Alberta Children’s Hospital, The Prostate Cancer Foundation, The Heart and Stroke foundation, and The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Raising awareness and helping support these foundations is very important to the Croatian Centre and that is why they continue to donate to various organizations each year.
